LaFollette Press:
My name is Joann Shetterly Parks, I’m the daughter of Otis and Minnie Shetterly and married to Rev. John Parks a Baptist minister whose parents are Luke and Creatie Parks.
We have lived in Caryville all of our lives. We are proud to say we live here and love all the people. When you come south on I-75 and top Teinnold hill and see the mountains, Cove Love Park and Caryville you can say it is the garden spot of the world.
I’m a Christian and love the Lord. I’m not perfect nor will I ever be, but I can say I try to live where my family and friends are not ashamed of me.
If we as Christians let this vote go in on November, we have failed as a Christian to let our light shine.
To the pastors of our churches in Caryville of whatever the denomination, you need to tell your people about the liquor by the drink that will be on the ballot to vote no.
You can’t put a price on a person’s life. What is money that can cost us our children? It is not money that is evil, it is the love of it.
So as a Christian I ask you to pray about this, talk to the Lord, let Him lead you and you will never go wrong.
So please vote no.
JoAnn Parks
