Letters to Editor April 14, 2011

-A A +A

 Editor,

LaFollette Press:

Once again Pointe Marina has surfaced and is moving forward. Currently the
plans call for 500 boat slips. As the director of Galilee Bible camp I have concerns about the wisdom and worth this marina.  The marina will mean an end to the peacefulness and tranquility of our cove.  For over 50 years we have provided a place for children and youth to experience nature and natures Creator. TVA will be giving another public comment opportunity.  My prayer is that many will help us save the beauty and serenity of Galilee Bible Camp and the area around Heatherly's point.

Editor,

LaFollette Press:

A couple of weeks ago, I was shopping at a local materials center. An incident occurred that brought a lot of attention and stares from customers and employees alike. A lady was paddling her toddler age child with her hand. She slammed the child down in the cart and was nose to nose in a screaming contest with the child. An off-duty Caryville policeman noticed the incident and did not hesitate to intervene on behalf of the child. The problems were resolved and we went on our way.

To Freddie Walker, a big salute.

Sincerely,

Harrison Marlow
