 Editor,

LaFollette Press:

On behalf of the members and volunteers of the C.C.W.C we would like to say a special thank you to all of the businesses and individuals that contributed to our 2010 Helping Needy Families Program. We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all of the individuals and businesses from Campbell County and surrounding counties that made donations to help us assist a lot of families that needed help during The Holiday Season.

We were able to help a lot of families with food, clothing and toys for the children the week before Christmas and would not have been able to assist as many if it were not for the financial donations that we received during the course of 2010. We look forward to the 2011 season and hope that we can continue to count on everyone’s support to help us help a lot of those in need.

Again we say thank you and hope the each of you have a safe and blessed 2011.

Thank You

Larry Collier

LaFollette Press:

When we think of a banquet we imagine lush ballrooms and attendees dressed to the nines coming together to celebrate a person or event. That is exactly what happened at White Oak Elementary School on the night of Dec. 21. Students and their families were invited to attend a banquet where they would be the guest of honor.

Lynn Ray and his congregation at New Horizon Baptist Church wanted to do something special for the school and community. The volunteers decorated the gymnasium to look like a ballroom, complete with a seven foot tall Christmas Tree, days before the event. The night of the banquet their enthusiasm was contagious as they served dinner to 430 community members and gave out numerous presents to the 100 students in attendance. Mr. Ray is an extraordinary addition to our school. His continued support for the students and their families is inspiring and we are extremely grateful for his contributions.

Thank you from the White Oak Community and School staff.
