LaFOLLETTE—At the LaFollette city workshop Monday, officials further discussed the possibility of creating a temporary public ice skating rink this winter by considering liability issues with insurance.

During the discussion, Mayor Mike Stanfield asked City Attorney Reid Troutman to contact the city’s insurance company to get written documentation showing if the ice skating rink would be covered.

The proposal for the temporary rink includes a cost of $21,033 for a two-week rental of a 20.5 by 40 foot rink that is expected to open Dec. 6 immediately following the end of the Christmas parade.
