Lincoln Memorial University Head Baseball Coach Jeff Sziksai recently announced that LMU’s “Little League Night” will be held on Friday, April 15 prior to the Railsplitters’ South Atlantic Conference game with Carson Newman.
Before LMU takes on Carson Newman at 7 p.m., Railsplitter players and coaches will work with little league kids from the tri-state area on various fundamentals of the game of baseball that include hitting, pitching, fielding and base-running.
“This is one of the highlights of our season,” said Sziksai.
“Our players and coaches really enjoy it, and it’s a great opportunity for our program to give back to kids of the community.”
The event is open top Little Leaguers throughout the tri-state area and is free of charge, as well as the game with Carson Newman.
Players that want to attend the free event should bring their bat and glove and be at the Lamar Hennon Field before 5 p.m.
For additional information, interested parties should contact the LMU baseball office at (423) 869-6345 or (423) 869-6344.
