A LaFollette man was arrested for allegedly smoking marijuana in his Acura in the Wendy’s parking lot on Saturday night. Two children were allegedly seated in the passenger seats.
Sgt. Joe Brown of the LaFollette Police Department went to Wendy’s around 8 p.m. Saturday night in response to a complaint about a man smoking marijuana in the parking lot, the report.
Patrick Pierce, 21, 334 Farris Circle, LaFollette, had been observed smoking marijuana by Tennessee Highway Patrol officer Mike Heatherly, who was off duty at the time.
When Brown arrived, he found Pierce and two children in a black Acura, Brown said. As Brown approached the vehicle, he allegedly smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from it. Brown found a smoked, hand-rolled cigarette besides the driver’s seat where Pierce was sitting, Brown said. He also found rolling papers and a plastic container that allegedly smelled like marijuana in Pierce’s pocket, Brown said.
Pierce was charged with possession of a schedule VI, possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of reckless endangerment.
