Man arrested at convenience store carrying brass knuckles

LaFOLLETTE—Last Friday, LaFollette Police Officer Jimmy Albertini was assisting Officer Douglas on a suspicious persons report at a LaFollette convenience store.

Albertini reportedly observed a male matching the description of the suspicious person run across East Central Avenue, according LPD records.

Albertini made contact with Lowell Wayne Ladd, 32, 153 Chapel View Drive, LaFollette, across the street from the convenience store where he was originally spotted, according to the report.

After allegedly obtaining permission to search Ladd, Albertini reportedly found a cellophane wrapper containing what appeared to be marijuana, two small pills believed to be Morphine, three yellow pills believed to be Ritalin and a set of Brass Knuckles, police records indicated.

Ladd was arrested and charged with possession of a schedule VI controlled substance, possession of a schedule II controlled substance and possession of prohibited weapons.
