The Knoxville FBI office is investigating after a man walked into First State Financial Bank in Jellico just before 11 a.m. on Monday. The suspect is a white male, approximately 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8 and 130 to 145 pounds. He is estimated to be in his early to mid 20s and was wearing a camouflage hoodie, camouflage shorts, and sunglasses. When he entered the bank, he gave a note to employees demanding money. The employees complied and the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of money. There were no reports of the suspect carrying a weapon. Just after the incident, Jellico police and nearby Campbell County Sheriff’s Office Deputies converged on the scene. A sign was hung on the door reading “temporary closed” and the facility was locked. Jellico Police Chief Chris Anderson arrived and began hanging police tape around the vehicle entrance to the bank. The FBI released photos of the suspect late Monday afternoon. Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the Knoxville FBI office at 865-544-0751 or the Jellico Police Department at 784-6123.
