A Jacksboro woman who allegedly left the scene of an accident had bigger problems than a crashed car last week.
Just after 4 p.m. last Friday LaFollette Police Officer Tony Rucker was called to investigate a hit and run accident at the intersection of East Beech Street and South 4th Street. During the inquiry Rucker discovered that Kelly Marie Martin, 19, of 404 Elkins Road, Jacksboro, crossed over Beech Street, struck another vehicle and continued traveling on South 4th Street, the arrest report said.
Officers were able to locate Martin at an East Hemlock location where she was allegedly found to be in possession of one yellow pill and half of an orange pill.
Martin was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident, possession of a schedule II substance violation of the financial responsibility law and failure to stop/yield. She is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 6.
