Martin nets charges for stabbing

An early morning confrontation between Newton Mitchell Martin and a family friend resulted in a stabbing.

Martin was with family celebrating a birthday when an argument ensued between him and a family friend, according to the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department.

The party, held in the Glade Springs area, came to a sudden halt around 3 a.m. on Feb. 7, when Martin used his personal knife to stab the victim, said Sheriff Gary Perkins.
