Nine additional people have applied for the LaFollette City Administrator position.
The position was left vacant when former interim city administrator Cade Sexton resigned in January.
Greg Brackett, William J. Kerley, David A. King, Margarette L. Meeks, Olajuwon Onadipe, Susan Rayburn, Bobby Russell II, Sandra Kay Tucker and Mark A. Wells submitted resumes by Feb. 27.
Brackett has no current job listed on his resume. He has worked in the banking industry, holding positions of financial services manager and branch manager.
He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee.
Kerley is currently working as director of housing and residential substance abuse treatment at the Pennyroyal Center in Hopkinsville, Ky. Kerley has also held positions for the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the Friedman Center in Paducah, Ky.
He received a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Southern Illinois University.
King is currently a fabricator at Fabrite, Inc. in Jacksboro. He has experience as general manager and over 15 years experience in the United States Army.
King received a bachelor’s degree from South College.
Meeks has extensive legal experience dating back to 2002. She has worked for the attorney general in Mississippi and held various positions including project manager, judicial law clerk and judicial assistant.
Meeks received her Juris Doctorate from Mississippi College School of Law and a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from Mississippi State University.
Onadipe is working as an intern at the city administrator’s office in Saint Peter, Minn.
He received a bachelor’s and master’s degree from an unspecified institution.
Rayburn is currently working as a store manager at Cato Fashions. Rayburn has extensive experience as a store manager at various places including Bare Escentuals, Inc., Whitehall and Friedman’s. She was also an owner and designer of Dremz Unlimited.
Rayburn received a high school diploma from Campbell County High School.
Russell II is currently working as a sales manager at Media Direct, LLC. He has held positions at Clayton Homes/Vanderbilt Mortgage and Wall and Associates since 2010.
Russell II received a bachelor’s degree from East Tennessee State University.
Tucker is currently a security officer for Allied Barton Security Forces. Tucker has also held positions with the Scott County Sheriff’s Department, including deputy and corrections officer.
Tucker received an associate’s degree from Roane State Community College.
Wells has no current job listed. Wells has experience in the banking industry at multiple banks, including First Trust and Savings, Tennessee 1st Federal Credit Union and Citizens Bank of New Tazwell.
Previous applicants are: B. Shane Burris, Jack E. Miller, Billie Jean Russell and James “Andy” Wallace.
Burris currently works as a machinist and inspector for Aisin Automotive Casting Tennessee, Inc. in Clinton.
Burris was formerly the director for Monroe County Economic Development from 1992 to 2010. He was a state loan officer for the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development from 1988 to 1992. He served as account officer for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation from 1986 to 1988.
Burris has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Tennessee.
Miller has been working as government management consultant since 2009.
Miller has 26 years’ experience as a city manager in four municipalities. Miller was Crossville City Manager from 2000 to 2008; city manager in Cordele, Ga. from 1992 to 2000 and in Braxley, Ga. from 1989 to 1992. Miller was also city manager in Beaufort, S.C. from 1982 to 1989. Miller was the executive director for Economic and Community Development Agency in Greenville before 1982.
Miller received a bachelor of arts and a master of arts in business administration from East Tennessee State University. He also earned a doctorate in business administration from California Coast University.
Russell has been the economic and community development coordinator for the Campbell County Mayor’s Office since 2009.
Russell was an executive assistant for C3 International from 2008 to 2009. She was a business development associate for Oak Ridge National Laboratory from 1987 to 2008.
Russell received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Phoenix.
Wallace is currently an account executive for the LaFollette Press.
Wallace worked for Toyota in various positions, including corporate logistics and manager, from 2004 to 2011. He was a logistics manager and customer service manager for Ryder Integrated Logistics from 1995 to 2004. Wallace held various positions for Roadway Package System from 1987 to 1995, including P and D manager, operations coordinator and regional trainee.
Wallace received a bachelor’s of arts in urban development from the University of Tennessee.
Resumes will be accepted until March 8, interim city administrator Jimmy Jeffries said. Jeffries was appointed interim city administrator at the Feb. 5 meeting.
