A report of an injured woman at the intersection of Jacksboro Pike and Towe String Road required officer attention last Saturday.

When LaFollette Police Officer Pam Jarrett responded to a report of a domestic fight she observed the female victim lunging into the roadway at the scene. According to Jarrett’s report the victim was covered with blood and had a gash above her upper lip.

The female reported that her boyfriend, identified as Lowell Murray, 37, of 1208 West Forrest Street, had assaulted her and two others at Garden Apartments.

Murray allegedly caught up with victim, who had run from the scene, and assaulted her again in the roadway in front of CVS Pharmacy. When a witness to the incident attempted to intervene he was also assaulted by Murray and left with a bloody cut above his eye.

The female victim was transported to St. Mary’s emergency room by ambulance for treatment.

Murray was arrested and charged with aggravated assault by domestic violence, assault, disorderly conduct, public intoxication and evading arrest. He is scheduled to face these charges on Aug. 7.
