Community Health of East Tennessee Clothes Closet will be open July 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., effective this Thursday CHET will begin charging a small fee for clothing and all items in the clothes closet. This money will be used to help cover the cost of utilities at the clothes closet and assist other programs in the agency. Donations of summer clothing and shoes are needed. The Woodbine Volunteer Fire Department Firefighters Club has canceled the All You Can Eat Potluck Dinner that was scheduled on July 11. It will be rescheduled at a later date. A fundraiser car wash will be held July 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. beside Food Lion. The cost is $5 per car and all proceeds go to the Children’s Miracle Network. A free 4-H day camp will be held July 14 and 15 from 9 a.m. -12 p.m. at the LaFollette Recreation Center. This will be two fun-filled make and take days. The Town of Caryville is continuing to pick up brush as a service to the community. The city will not pick up commercial tree cuttings or tree stumps. Brush must be placed neatly along side of road on city right-of-way, not to block ditch lines or roadways. Brush needs to be no longer than six feet in length and no bigger around than two feet. All ground flowers at the Cumberland View Cemetery must be moved by July 18 due to extra mowing expenses.
