Young Champions of America will be starting its spring season Jan. 28 at LaFollette Recreation Center. This is a competition cheer squad boys and girls of all ages are invited to come join. Class fee is $7, uniforms and competitions are optional. Ages 4-6 come at 6 p.m., ages 7-9 come at 6:45 and ages 9 and up come at 7:30. There are no try outs for levels 1-4. Children of all ages can try out for the new level 5 squad. Cove Lake Hiking Club will meet Jan. 30 at Jacksboro Middle School at 9 a.m. to go hiking on the Hemlock Trail. This is a moderate hike. There will be a called meeting of the Campbell County Library Board at the Jacksboro Library on Feb. 2 at 6 p.m. The JHS Class of 1974 will be meeting for dinner on Feb. 20, at 6 pm., at Aubrey’s Restaurant, Powell. Ginny's Pet Rescue, Inc. is closing due to financial constraints and other issues. Homes are currently being sought for the remaining animals. Individuals are exploring the possibility of organizing a reunion for those who attended Victory Elementary School. For initial planning purposes, the reunion would be held in the summer of 2010 and within the Lafollette Community, perhaps Cove Lake. It is believed that the school was closed on/or about 1960.
