The regular meeting of the Caryville Municipal Planning Commission will be held at 6 p.m. on Feb. 4 at the Caryville City Hall.   On Friday, Feb. 5 women across America will be wearing red in support of National Wear Red day to raise awareness that heart disease is the number one killer of women. Individuals are encouraged to wear red and speak up on Friday. To learn the warning signs for a Heart Attack or Stroke in women, visit the American Heart Association at www.americanheart.org.   Community Health of East Tennessee Clothes Closet will be open Feb. 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All items will be 25 cents each. Donations of winter clothing are needed.   The Lions Club of Campbell County will meet Feb. 8, 6 -6:30 p.m. bring your supper, 6:30-7:30 p.m. business at the First Presbyterian Church, the meeting room behind the church.  Contact Lion Carol McDonald 563-0057 for more information.   The L A Cruizers car club will be meeting Feb. 9 at the East LaFollette Baptist Church at 7 p.m. It's the annual election of officers combined with a Valentines dinner.   The Campbell County Children’s Center is holding its 1st annual Valentine’s Day candy bouquet fundraiser.  There will be a $10 and a $20 bouquet to purchase.  For more information call 562-4190.  The deadline to order is Feb. 10.   The Campbell County Artist Association will have its regular monthly meeting on Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Chaniott and Carroll Studio in the West LaFollette Recreation Building.   Enter through the front of the school, second entrance, and first room on left. The guest artist will be Sue Gibbs Howard. The group will be doing an oil painting – the learning technique will be relflections on water. For those who have oil brushes, bring them. A liner brush is needed also. For those who do not, there will be ones that can be borrowed for the evening. A clean 1” brush will be needed for a part of the technique. All other supplied will be provided. Refreshments will be served. For more information or directions please call Karen Cumorich at 562-8468.   The JHS Class of 1974 will be meeting for dinner on Feb. 20, at 6 pm., at Aubrey’s Restaurant, Powell.    Clinch Bend Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution will meet at 11 a.m. on Feb. 20 in the parking lot of Oak Ridge Library to car pool to Knoxville for the George Washington Luncheon at Rothchild's.  Guest speaker is Sam Venable.  Reservations must be received by Feb. 9. again this year.  Taxes will be done on Thursday morning of each week

starting Feb. 4 at 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.through April 15, at

the LaFollette Public Library.  Counselors Charlie Gladwell, Dan Panzaru

and Pearl Randall will be there to assist. Reservations can be made by calling Nancy Green at the LaFollette Public Library at 562-5154.   Individuals are exploring the possibility of organizing a reunion for those who attended Victory Elementary School.  The details of reunion will be determined after sufficient interest is known.   For initial planning purposes, the reunion would be held in the summer of 2010 and within the Lafollette Community, perhaps Cove Lake.  It is believed that the school was closed on/or about 1960.
