Saturday was the 2010 season kickoff for Campbell County Soccer Association teams.
Games began at 9 a.m. sharp and continued into the early afternoon hours. Hundreds of people braved the late August heat to come and watch their children and grandchildren play.
Approximately 300 kids are registered for league competition this year.
“We’re off to a good start,” said CCSA spokesperson Bryan Horton.
“We’ll have at least six weeks of games after Labor Day, which will take us into the middle of October. The season starts out pretty warm but, by the middle of October, it can get downright chilly.”
Coaches and players of the Campbell County Soccer Association would like to publicly thank the following sponsors for their contributions to the 2010 season: First of Campbell County, Powell-Clinch Utilities, First National Bank of LaFollette, Peoples Bank of the South, Mercy Medical Center, Terry’s Pharmacy, Papa John’s, Gray Insurance, Sugar Shack, Martin-Wilson Funeral Home, B.C.
