Prank caller arrested

A LaFollette man started the new year on the wrong side of the law.

 LaFollette Police Officer Rick Ford was called to a West Ash Street residence on New Year’s Day to investigate calls to 911.

According to Ford’s report Matthew Wayne Ayers, 18, of 1101 Ash Street had placed several non-emergency calls to 911.

Arrest records indicate during an interview Ayers allegedly appeared to be “very unstable on his feet” and smelled of an alcoholic beverage.
