Lisa Elliot, president of Center of Hope International, will host the Prophetic Prayer Conference at Calvary Worship Center April 12-14.
“I feel like it’s a mandate to bring a prayer summit,” Elliot said.
Elliot encourages pastors, business leaders and people committed to prayer to come.
Elliot started the Center of Hope in 1999. The Center of Hope provides food, clothing and furniture through distribution centers. It has over 100 distribution centers in 13 states and four countries. There currently isn’t a center in Campbell County, but Elliot hopes to bring one to LaFollette or the Norris area, she said.
In the past, the Center for Hope has sponsored four annual giveaway events—Easter, back-to-school, Thanksgiving and Christmas giveaways.
Elliot has been in Africa for two years. Now she wants to host a prayer rally in Campbell County.
“I’m bringing a different kind of help this year,” Elliot said.
Elliot’s ministry has made a difference in Campbell County through food, clothing and furniture distributions, she said. Now, she believes she has a calling to do more to help Campbell County, she said. She wants to gather “prayer warriors” to pray for some of the problems Campbell County faces—such as poverty.
“I was born and raised here (in Campbell County),” Elliot said. “And I experienced poverty growing up.”
About three or four churches are involved. Pastors Anthony Gibson and Mark Lay will come, she said.
The meetings will be 7 p.m.
