Due to a lack of response the fish dinner scheduled for April 9 at Kasi’s Café has been cancelled.
ORNL Federal Credit Union will host a Relay 4 Life Pet Show on April 9 at Sergeant’s Park from 2 to 3 p.m. Entry fee per pet is $5. Awards for both cats and dogs in the following categories: cutest, best trick, best outfit, best all around. Pet Treats will be given to the winners in each category.
A Relay for Life yard sale will be held at Caryville Elementary School on April 9 in the front of school/gym.
Relay 4 Life will be holding a road block in downtown Jacksboro on both April 9and April 30from 9-11 a.m.
ORNL Federal Credit Union will have a car wash/yard sale/bake sale at McDonalds on April 16from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to support Relay 4 Life. Car washes will be on a donation basis. Yard sale items and baked goods will be individually priced.
Roane State Community College is hosting a yard sale to raise money for Campbell County Relay for Life. It will be held at the RSCC Campbell County Campus parking lot on April 16 from 8 – 2. If interested in renting a space, please call the campus at 562-7021 ext. 4103.
ORNL Federal Credit Union will present a 5K Run/Walk on April 30 at Jacksboro Middle School with the proceeds going to Relay 4 Life. Each walker/runner will contribute $20 to enter the 5K. Please pre-register to receive a tee shirt by April 15 at the LaFollette ORNL Federal Credit Union Branch. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. and the walk/run begins at 8:30 a.m. Age categories include Kids 12 and under, Women, Men, and Seniors. First place in each category will receive $25.
The LaFollette Housing Authority Relay 4 Life team is collecting photos through May 2 of cancer survivors and love ones who have lost their battle with cancer. A video slide show will be created from the photos. To enter photos, please send the photo with a $5 donation to: The LaFollette Housing Authority, Attention: Relay Photo, P.O. Box 392, LaFollette, TN 37766 or drop the photo off at The LaFollette Housing Authority between the hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and ask for Dena Miller or Tina Goodman. Please write on the back of the photo the name of the person pictured, if they are a survivor or a lost loved one, date they were told they are cancer free or passed away, and a phone number to contact you. Please include a self addressed stamped envelope if pictures are to be returned. DVD’s will be available after the Relay 4 Life to purchase for a $10 donation. The LaFollette Press and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church will host the annual Relay for Life Fish Fry on May 5 from 5 to 7:30 p.m., the cost is $10, fried fish, French fries, drinks include, dessert extra. Tickets available at the door, or at the LaFollette Press front office.
Linda Kilgore’s State Farm office will be selling purple bows to put on the front door of homes or businesses for a $10 donation to Relay 4 Life. To get a bow, call 566-5000.
