The Campbell County Republican Party plans to kick off the fundraising year with its annual Reagan Day celebration.
According to Josh Parker, chairman of the county’s Republican organization, the dinner is the party’s major fundraising event for the year.
“This is the dinner we host once a year to raise funds needed to maintain the county’s Republican party,” Parker said of the event that has historically raised around $1,000.
The event, which is scheduled for Feb. 19, will be held at the LaFollette Church of God.
Tickets can be purchased at the door for a charge of $25. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with festivities slated to begin at 7 p.m.
Sen. Bob Corker will be on hand as the keynote speaker for the event and local Republicans including County Mayor William Baird, Representatives Chad Faulkner and Ken Yager are also expected to be in attendance.
“We are really excited to have Sen. Corker as our speaker and look forward to hearing his insight on the political climate in Washington,” Parker said.
