The report of a prowler led to a drug arrest for the LaFollette Police Department.
Officer Daniel Smith was called to an East Hemlock address after the homeowner reported seeing someone behind his residence.
At the scene Smith and Officer Rick Ford allegedly encountered Gregory Stanley Riggs, 43, of 504 River Drive.
During the exchange Riggs allegedly presented with slurred speech and reported he had taken methadone he had received from a clinic.
Riggs was given a field sobriety test which he failed to perform to satisfaction and was found to have several different types of pills in his pants pocket, Smith’s report stated.
Riggs was arrested and charged with possession of legend drugs without a prescription and criminal trespassing. He is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
