Police are investigating the robbery of a LaFollette pharmacy.
Last Thursday around 5:30 p.m., an armed man entered the hospital branch of Rigg’s Pharmacy demanding oxycontins, according to the LaFollette Police report. Holding the nickel-plated snub-nosed revolver sideways, the man allegedly made his demand at least three times. After being told by the pharmacist there were no oxycontins in stock, the thief then changed his plan.
“Give me all your money, hurry,” the man said, the LPD report indicated. Complying with the demands, the pharmacist on duty emptied the cash register of its contents. Police have declined to comment on the amount of money taken from the store.
With the cash in hand the man exited the pharmacy and ran northeast.
The thief was described as a white male, approximately 23 to 25 years old. He was estimated to be around 6 feet tall and thin.
At the time of the crime the suspect was wearing a gray hoodie with blue jeans and a blue handkerchief on the lower half of his face.
“We have several leads we are following at this time,” said LPD Lt. Monty Miller.
Anyone who thinks they have information is asked to call the LPD Detective Division at 562-8331.
