Seven more apply for LaFollette admin position

Seven last minute applicants submitted resumes for the LaFollette City Administrator position before the March 8 deadline. Gary R. Carver, William C. Comer, Travis Davis, Joseph W. Garrison II, Thomas Hatmaker, Darryl R. Roberts and Edward Stevenson.
Carver is currently working with the Tennessee Department of Human Services as an eligibility counselor for TennCare. He has also worked as marketing director for East Tennessee State University campus recreation and mentorship with Cocke County Mayor’s office.
Carver received a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from ETSU.
Comer is currently regional coordinator for Solution Source. He has been director of operations for Camelot Cares, an investigator for the Department of Children’s Services, a security police officer for Lockheed Martin and also served in the United States Army.
Comer received a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from Lincoln Memorial University.
Davis is store manager for O’Reilly Auto Parts. Davis has also worked for Flowers Baking Company and Autozone.
Garrison currently works in the home services department at Home Depot. He has worked as regional manager for Consumer Credit Counseling, Inc., sales manager for Window Gallery, area sales manager for Home Depot, sales representative for the USFS Veterans Mortgage, admissions and marketing director for Life Care of America and counselor and PCP chairman for KCDC.
Garrison earned his bachelor’s degree from ETSU.
Hatmaker is currently owner of LaFollette Tree Trimming and a third district county commissioner. He has also been an accountant for Health First.
Hatmaker received a bachelor’s degree from LMU.
Roberts didn’t list a current job. He has worked in human resources at Aisin Automotive Casting Tennessee, Inc. and Advance Auto Parts Distribution Center. Roberts also worked as a journeyman lineman at LaFollette Utilities.
Roberts received a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from LMU.
Stevenson is currently sales manager for Integrated Electronics Corporation. He has also worked as business development manager and manager for Southwest Regional, division manager for Jaco Electronics, branch manager for Pioneer-Standard Electronics, Inc., field sales manager for Sterling Electronics, Inc., regional manager for Integrated Electronics Corporation and area manager for Suffolk Regional Off-Track Betting Corp.
Stevenson received a master’s degree from Long Island University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California.
Greg Beckett, B. Shane Burris, William J. Kerley, David A. King, Margarette L. Meeks, Jack E. Miller, Olajuwon Onadipe, Susan Rayburn, Billie Jean Russell, Bobby Russell II, Sandra Kay Tucker, James “Andy” Wallace and Mark A. Wells have also applied for city administrator.
The position was left vacant when former interim city administrator Cade Sexton resigned in January. The LaFollette City Council appointed Jimmy Jeffries interim city administrator until a full-time replacement could be found. Jeffries will begin contacting applicants about scheduling interviews this week, he said.
