Shoe box collection marks another successful year

The country’s economic slowdown proved to be inconsequential to the generosity of Campbell and Scott county residents who set out to make a difference in the lives of children around the world.

Margaret Faulkner, who along with her husband John, coordinated the county’s drop off site for shoe boxes collected for Franklin Graham’s Operation Christmas Child ministry said she was pleasantly surprised with the 1,080 boxes that were turned in this year.
