Snell Arrested on child abuse charges By NANCY BRIGHT email@example.com A trip to school wasn’t all it was expected to be for two young children recently. On Oct. 1 the Jacksboro Police Department received a call at 8:15 a.m. from the boyfriend of Amanda Christina Snell. The man claimed Snell had taken their two children, ages 4 and 9, from the babysitter saying she was taking them to school, according to Jacksboro Police Chief Danny Chapman. The chief said the man was the temporary guardian of the children and Snell didn’t have his permission to take the children. This prompted area officers to begin looking for Snell and the children. Caryville Police Chief Bill Widener found a vehicle with the front wheels partially submerged in Cove Lake with two children standing on the side of the road. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Snell who was incoherent at the time. She was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated child abuse and two counts of aggravated assault. She was scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 13 but her court date was postponed until November so she could be further evaluated, according to Chapman.
