LaFOLLETTE—An emergency call was received Monday night regarding an incident where authorities believe a son-in-law stabbed his father-in-law multiple times.
Campbell County Sheriff deputies arrived at 196 Bethel Lane at about 10 p.m. Monday where they learned Ferrall Reynolds, 54, had been stabbed in his back several times, Campbell County deputy Darryl Chapman said.
A LIFESTAR medical helicopter could not transport Reynolds due to weather conditions, but he was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center by ambulance, Chapman said. Reynolds was in stable condition Tuesday, hospital records show.
The suspect, Anthony Byers, 33, initially refused to come outside, but later left the residence, where he was arrested by detectives.
Byers is charged aggravated assault. He was released from Campbell County Jail Tuesday on a $5,000 bond.
The motive cannot be released immediately due to further interviews of potential witnesses, Chapman said.
