Spiritually Speaking For great comfort read God’s word and pray If you think you have problems and are so worried you can’t do the things you should be doing, there are definitely two things you can do to bring you solace. There is no comfort like reading God’s Holy word and then talking in prayer to Him often. The first place I would recommend for comfort is Psalm. Psalm 91 is unequaled read it you’ll not regret it. Psalm 5:11-12, “But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them; let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee. For thou, Lord, will bless the righteous; with favor wilt thou compass him as with a shield.” Psalm 29:11 “The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace.” Certainly one of my favorites is Psalm 37:3-5, “Trust in the Lord and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shall be fed. Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.” What could bring more comfort to us, knowing God will take care of us? Read all of chapter 37, it is good. Proverbs 3:5-6 is also such a good scripture of comfort also; “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Now remember these promises come when we know we are living pleasing to our Heavenly Father. I am writing this as I was writing to a friend, someone that is reaching out for help. There is no way I could ever tell you that we will never make mistakes or wrong judgments. But you see when we do we immediately ask for forgiveness. One thing we can’t keep breaking is any of the Ten Commandments and stay in close contact with Him. Sometimes they are called God’s law. God’s commandments are not God’s suggestions. There is a complete list in Exodus 20:3-17, read them all. 1. Thou shalt have no other god’s before me. 2. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image. 3. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain. 4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 5. Honor thy Father and Mother. 6. Thou shalt not kill. 7. Thou shalt not commit adultery. 8. Thou shalt not steal. 9. Thou shalt not bear false witness. 10. Thou shall not covet. These are explained better if you read the Scripture in Exodus 20. Remember these are not my words, but they were given to Moses, written by the finger of God on tablets of stone. If they weren’t important they would not have been written. What a world we would live in if we followed these, always. I just wanted to remind you we can still live with comfort and solace from God if we strive to keep his commandments and those promises in Pslam and priceless. God Bless.
