Spiritually Speaking Pearl Harper As for me and my house Aren’t we so glad that the arm of God is always stretched out to meet the needs of His people. He loves us with an everlasting love. All we have to do is call out to Him. It seems so many things were hidden from us for so long, like corruption or people getting rich by flimflaming others. Yes it is a word, it means getting rich by shady financial dealings, fraud or to swindle others. It was something you knew was happening, but never on such a large scale or so widespread. Makes you think of a virus or something very contagious. I It seems to me, everything is being exposed or coming to light for all to see and know. The evil deeds of many are being made known for the whole world to see. To use a phrase, “their covering has been blown.” The words of John of chapter 5:7-16, (NKJV) seems to explain a lot. “Yet man is born to trouble as the sparks fly upward. But as for me, I would seek God, and to God I would commit my cause-who does great tings without number. He gives pain on the earth and sends waters on the field. He sets on high those who are lowly, and those who mourn are lifted to safety. He frustrates the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot carry out their plans He catches the wise in their own craftiness And the counsel of the cunning comes quickly upon them. They meet with darkness in the daytime And grope at noontime as in the night But he saves the needy from the sword, From the mouth of the mighty and from their hand So the poor have hope, and injustice shuts her mouth.” In Numbers 32:13-15 we read where God; anger was kindled against the Israelites, because of their sins. In Numbers 32:23 Moses warned the people that if they do not keep their word… “behold you have sinned against the Lord: and be sure your sins will find you out,” it says in the King James Version of the Bible. Proverbs 28:13-14, “He that covered his sins shall not prosper: but who so confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. Happy is the man that feareth always, but he that hardineth his heart shall fall into mischief.” Proverbs 5:22 “says the sins of the wicked shall trap and hold him.” Sound like anything going on today? We often make the remark, how can they be so corrupt, using tricking and often leaving people poor and needy. We just read the reason. Their heart has become hardened. Hardineth here means irredeemable. When the heart is hardened there is no awareness of right or wrong. Joshua told the Israelites in Joshua 24:15, he was speaking of serving God or evil… “choose ye this day whom ye will serve…but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. God will keep His arm of protection reaching out to us- if we love Him and keep His commandments. God Bless.
