Campbell County Softball

The Campbell County High School softball team will travel to Hardin Valley on Thursday, March 21. The District 3-AAA game is slated to begin at 6 p.m. On Friday, March 22, the Lady Cougars will host Oneida in a double-header. The first game is to begin at 5 p.m., as the second will follow directly after. On Monday, March 25, Karns will come to Campbell County High School for a District 3-AAA double-header. The first game is slated for 6 p.m., as the second will directly follow. On Tuesday, March 26, Campbell County will host another District 3-AAA foe. The contest with Oak Ridge begins at 6 p.m.

Campbell County Middle School Baseball

The Campbell County Middle School baseball team will travel to Oak Ridge tonight, Thursday, March 21. The game is slated to begin at 5:30 p.m., as the junior varsity will play at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, March 23, Middlesboro (Ky) will travel to Campbell County High School. The varsity squad will begin at 2 p.m., as the junior varsity will play at 4 p.m. On Tuesday, March 26, Powell will come to Campbell County High School for a double-header with the middle school squad. The first game is to begin at 5:30 p.m., as the second is to begin directly after.

Jellico High School Baseball

The Jellico High School baseball team will take on Austin East in their second contest of the season, tonight, Thursday, March 21. On Friday, March 22, the Blue Devils will be in action again, as they host Barbourville, before traveling to Wartburg for a District 4-A match-up on Monday, March 25. On Tuesday, March 26, Jellico will host their cross-border rival, Lynn Camp (Ky). Each game is slated for 5 p.m.

Jellico High School Softball

The Jellico High School softball team will host Cumberland Gap on Thursday, March 21. This is to be a varsity only contest, which is to begin at 5 p.m. On Friday, March 22, Wayne County (Ky) will travel to Jellico for another varsity only contest beginning at 5:30 p.m. On Monday, March 25, the Lady Blue Devils will host Wartburg in District 4-A action, before traveling to Wartburg on Tuesday, March 26. Both games are slated to begin at 5:30 p.m., as the junior varsity squads will follow.

Jellico Middle School Baseball

The Jellico Middle School baseball team will travel to Scott County for an away match-up tonight, Thursday, March 21. The contest is set for 5:30 p.m.

Middle School Track

The Jacksboro Eagles and the LaFollette Owls track teams will travel Anderson County High School on Thursday, March 21. The meet will include Norris, Lake City, Cherokee, Jefferson and Robertsville. On Tuesday, March 26, both teams will travel to Oak Ridge High School to face Robertsville, Jefferson, North, Lake City, Maryville and Union Grove. Both meets are scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.

Campbell County Baseball

The Campbell County High School baseball team will face Claiborne County on Friday, March 22. This will be a varsity only contest, as the game is slated for 6 p.m. at Campbell County High School. On Monday, March 25, the Cougars will travel to Lenoir City to see the Panthers. This will also be a varsity only contest, as the game is set to begin at 6 p.m.

Campbell County Tennis

The Campbell County High School tennis teams have only one match this week. The will play against Halls on Friday, March 22 at 4:30 p.m.

Campbell County Track and Field

The Campbell County track and field team will travel William Blount High School for an invitational meet on Friday, March 22. The first events are to begin at 5 p.m.

Young Sportsman Turkey Hunt

The juvenile hunt for the 2013 spring turkey season is set for March 23-24. This is for ages six through 16. One bearded turkey counts toward the statewide bag of four. Each youth must be accompanied by a non-hunting adult, 21 years of age or older, who must remain in a position to take immediate control of the hunting device.

Spring Turkey Season

The Spring Turkey Season is set for March 30 through May 12. Only one bearded turkey per day, with a season limit of four per person. Shooting hours are 30 minutes before legal sunrise until sunset.

Great Smoky Mountains Trout Adventure Camp

The third annual Great Smoky Mountains Trout Adventure Camp for middle school girls and boys will be held June 17 through June 22. The camp will be at Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont. It is designed to give kids an appreciation and understanding of the importance of our aquatic resources with an emphasis on conservation, protection and restoration of coldwater ecosystems. They experience fly tying, fly fishing and snorkeling in the Little River, along with some hiking and swimming. Boys and girls ages 12 to 15 old are eligible to apply, and 14 participants will be accepted. Tuition is $472. For more information, see www.tntroutadventure.org.
