Thursday, April 4:

Campbell County baseball

The Campbell County High School baseball team will host Carter. This non-district match-up will be varsity only, as it is slated to begin at 5:30 p.m.

 

Middle School track

Some of Campbell County’s middle school track athletes will be participating in the CAK Shootout at the Christian Academy of Knoxville. The meet is set to begin at 4:30 p.m.

 

Friday, April 5:

Campbell County middle school baseball

The Campbell County middle school baseball team will travel to Cumberland Gap for a regularly scheduled game. The varsity squad will begin at 5 p.m., as the junior varsity team will play at 7:30 p.m.

 

Saturday, April 6:

Fishing tournament in honor of Katelyn Norman

The benefit fishing tournament in honor of Katelyn Norman is scheduled for 7 a.m. Blast off will take place at the public boat launch behind Kilgore Auction. Weigh in will be at 2 p.m. The price is $25 per person.

 

Campbell County Track

The Campbell County High School track team will travel to Oak Ridge High School for the Oak Ridge Relays. Start time for the meet is 9 a.m.

 

Jellico Little League sign-ups

The Jellico Little League will hold sign-ups at the Jellico Civic Center from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. There will be no cost. The sign-ups will be held for t-ball to little league baseball. Ages up to 15-years-old, both boys and girls, are welcome. No physicals are needed. Only a copy of the birth certificate and insurance card are required. Forms will be provided. Players will be sorted to teams, and practice dates have not been scheduled.

 

Middle school baseball

The Campbell County and Jellico middle school baseball squads will battle each other at 2 p.m. on the campus of Campbell County High School. This will be the first meeting of the two squads.

 

3FC MMA fights

Two Campbell County athletes will be fighting in 3FC MMA event at the Smoky Mountain Convention Center in Pigeon Forge. Chris Shaneyfelt and Billy White are set to be in action.

 

Monday, April 8:

Middle School track

The Jacksboro and LaFollette track teams will travel to Oak Ridge for their last scheduled meet before the Area meets. Scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m., the meet will also feature Robertsville, Jefferson, Lake City, Cherokee, Maryville, Alcoa, Heritage, Norris, Webb, ESK, Union Grove, Sacred Heart, and North middles.

 

Campbell County baseball

The Campbell County High School baseball team will travel to Central High School for a District 3-AAA battle. The varsity will play at 5 p.m., as the junior varsity will follow at 7:30 p.m.

 

Jellico baseball

The Blue Devils will travel to Oneida for a District 4-A baseball game. Action is set to begin at 5 p.m.

 

Jellico softball

The Jellico High School softball team will travel to Oneida for a District 4-A softball game. The contest is slated to begin at 5 p.m., as the junior varsity will follow directly after.

 

Tuesday, April 9:

Campbell County tennis

The Campbell County tennis team will travel to Oak Ridge High School for their fifth match. It is slated to begin at 5 p.m.

 

Campbell County track

The Campbell County track team will travel to Karns High School. The meet is scheduled for 5 p.m.

 

Jellico baseball

Jellico High School will host Oneida for a District 4-A baseball rematch. The varsity team is set to play at 5 p.m.

 

Jellico softball

The Jellico Lady Blue Devils will host Oneida in their District 4-A softball game. The rematch is scheduled for 5 p.m., as the junior varsity teams will follow.

 

Campbell County baseball

The Cougar baseball team will travel to Hardin Valley for another District 3-AAA match-up. The varsity squad will begin at 5:30 p.m.

 

Campbell County softball

The Campbell County softball team will travel to Oak Ridge for a District 3-AAA match-up. The game is slated for 6 p.m.

 

LaFollette Country Club Scramble

The LaFollette Country Club will be holding its regular Tuesday night scramble tournament. Teams will be split up evenly. The cost is $20, and it’s slated to begin at 6 p.m.

 

Wednesday, April 10:

Campbell County softball

The Campbell County softball team will travel to Clinton for a District 3-AAA match-up with the Lady Dragons. The varsity is slated for 5 p.m., as the junior varsity will follow.

 

Campbell County middle school baseball

The Campbell County middle school baseball team will host Horace Maynard at Campbell County High School. The varsity squad will begin at 5:30 p.m., as the junior varsity will follow at 7:30 p.m.

 

April 19-20:

Spring Classic Basketball Tournament

The Sixth Annual Ram’s Spring Classic Basketball Tournament is scheduled for grades fifth through ninth, and it includes both boys and girls. Each team is guaranteed at least three games, as a championship game will also be played. All teams are welcome, and the tournament is to be held at Grace Christian Academy in Knoxville. March 30-May 12:

Spring Turkey Season

The spring turkey season began on March 30, and will run through May 12. Only one bearded turkey per day, with a season limit of four per person. Shooting hours are 30 minutes before legal sunrise until sunset.

 

June 17-22:

Great Smoky Mountains Trout Adventure Camp

The third annual Great Smoky Mountains Trout Adventure Camp for middle school girls and boys will be held at the Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont. It is designed to give kids an appreciation and understanding of the importance of our aquatic resources with an emphasis on conservation, protection and restoration of coldwater ecosystems. They experience fly tying, fly fishing and snorkeling in the Little River, along with some hiking and swimming. Boys and girls ages 12 to 15 old are eligible to apply, and 14 participants will be accepted. Tuition is $472. For more information, see www.tntroutadventure.org.
