Campbell County Summer Baseball

The Campbell County High School summer baseball team will participate in the League Tournament. The times and locations will be announced.

 

July 12

Campbell County Football

Campbell County High School will be participating in a 7-on-7 scrimmage at Grace Christian on Friday. The teams will work on passing drills throughout the camp. The scrimmage is set to begin at 5 p.m.

 

July 12-13

College Athlete USA Valley Shootout

College Athlete USA Inc. will be hosting a basketball tournament for boys and girls through 11th grade. The tournament will be held at LaFollette Elementary School. To sign up a team or for more information, go to infosports.com. Click the ling for basketball tournaments, Tennessee tab and the tournament will be called College Athlete USA Valley Shootout.

 

July 13

Campbell County Football

The Campbell County High School football team will be participating in 7-on-7 scrimmages on the campus of Maryville College. The scrimmages are set to begin at 9 a.m., as Campbell County will play at four games during each hour until noon.

 

July 15

Campbell County Girls’ Middle School Soccer Tryouts

The Campbell County Middle School middle school soccer team will be holding tryouts for girls on Monday, July 15. All girls entering the sixth, seventh or eighth grades may tryout. It’s also open to members of any Campbell County middle school. This is a county team. For more information, contact Bryan Horton at 494-6569.

Campbell County Basketball Camp

Matt Housley and Ryan Browning will be hosting a basketball camp for boys and girls from 9 a.m. to noon on each day. Boys and girls, entering grades first through eighth are welcome to attend inside John R.W. Brown Gymnasium. Fundamental instruction, drills and live game experience, competitions and help from high school players are all part of the camp. The cost is $50 per student. Jacksboro Middle School Football Camp

Jacksboro Middle School will be hosting its annual football camp for all ages. The camp will run through the 18th, and it will be from 6 to 9 p.m. each night. The cost of the camp is $50, and it will be held on the campus of Jacksboro Middle School.

 

July 16-19

LaFollette Elementary School Basketball Camp

LaFollette Elementary School is hosting a basketball camp for students between second and eighth grades. The camp will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day, as the cost will be $70. The camp will include breakfast and lunch each day, and it will be conducted by Geoff Mallory of College Athlete USA Inc. For more information, call 865-771-2329.

Bristol Motor Speedway

Bristol Motor Speedway will be hosting Monster Truck Madness and Global Rally Cross as a doubleheader. Practice rounds can be seen for free with the purchase of tickets from noon until 7 p.m. on July 19. On July 20, gates will open at 2:30 p.m. Thompson Metal Monster Truck Madness and Global Rally Cross will be at the World’s Fastest Half-mile for the first time together, and tickets start at $25. Kids 10 and under are $5.

LaFollette Country Club Two-man Scramble

The LaFollette Country Club will be hosting a two-man scramble. The combined handicap for the team must be 10. For more information and details, contact the pro shop at 562-9130.

Jellico High School Golf

The Jellico High School golf team will be hosting Loudon at the LaFollette Country Club. The tournament is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.

Jellico High School Golf

The Jellico High School golf team will travel to Toqua (Tellico Village) to take on Loudon High School. Tee-times begin at 3 p.m.

The Jellico High School volleyball team will participate in the Cater Play Day at Carter High School. The matches will begin at 8 a.m.

The Jellico High School volleyball team will host King’s Academy. The junior varsity will begin at 5 p.m., and the varsity squad will follow at 6 p.m.

The Jellico High School volleyball team will host Whitley County (Ky.) High. The junior varsity team will play at 5 p.m., as the varsity will play at 6 p.m.

Bristol Motor Speedway

Bristol Motor Speedway will be hosting the UNOH 200 & Titan Roof 150 at 8 p.m. The night doubleheader is scheduled for a Wednesday night, as the Whelen Modified Series will begin first. The nightcap will be the UNOH 200, the largest, most dramatic Camping World Truck Series event. Tickets start at $30. The races will be broadcast on FOX Sports SPEED.

 

August 23

Bristol Motor Speedway

Bristol Motor Speedway will be hosting the Food City 250 at 7:30 p.m. The NASCAR Nationwide Series race is also a Sharpie Qualifying race. Tickets start at $35, as some of the biggest drivers are expected for the race. The race will air on ESPN.

 

August 24

Bristol Motor Speedway

Bristol Motor Speedway will host the Irwin Tools Night Race at 7:30 p.m. The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races, which was the Bleacher Report and Sporting News’ No. 1 race of 2012, will return as one of the heated races of last season. Tickets start at $75, and the race will air on ABC.

Elk hunt applications being accepted

The application period for Tennessee’s 2013 elk hunt will be through July 24, which coincides with the Wildlife Management Area (WMA) and WMA Youth quota application period. Anyone interested in both the elk and WMA permits will have to submit two applications, one for each. The state’s fifth elk hunt is scheduled for Oct. 21-25 at the North Cumberland Wildlife Management Area. A youth drawing will be between the ages of 13 to 16 years of age. Applicants may apply at any TWRA license agent, TWRA regional office or online at www.tnelkhunt.org. The deadline will end at midnight (CDT) on July 24. Mailed applications will not be accepted.

 

Tennessee Havoc Tryouts

The Tennessee Havoc AAU teams will be hosting tryouts for ages 10-13, both boys and girls. Tryouts will be held at 6 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays at East LaFollette Elementary. For further information, contact 437-8982 or 907-2929.

The regular Tuesday night scrambles will begin on Tuesday nights, as teams will be paired evenly into groups of four. Players should call the LaFollette Country Club in order to sign up for the event. For more information or to sign up, call 562-9130.

 

The Greens at Deerfield Scramble

Each Thursday night, The Greens at Deerfield will be hosting a nine-hole, two-man tournament. Players can sign-up until an hour before the tournament, as the teams will need to be determined. For more information, contact Deerfield at 566-0040.

 

LaFollette Country Club Couple’s Night

The LaFollette Country Club will be hosting a couple’s night every Thursday night. Couples are encouraged to come to the greens and play rounds. For more information, call 562-9130.
