Bristol Motor Speedway

Bristol Motor Speedway will be hosting Monster Truck Madness and Global Rally Cross as a doubleheader. Practice rounds can be seen for free with the purchase of tickets from noon until 7 p.m. on July 19. On July 20, gates will open at 2:30 p.m. Thompson Metal Monster Truck Madness and Global Rally Cross will be at the World’s Fastest Half-mile for the first time together, and tickets start at $25. Kids 10 and under are $5.

LaFollette Country Club Two-man Scramble

The Campbell County Youth Soccer Association will be holding sign-ups on Saturday, July 27. The registration will be at the LaFollette Recreations Center from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The cost is $45 per child and $40 per any additional child. Please bring a copy of the child’s birth certificate. Bristol Motor Speedway

Bristol Motor Speedway will be hosting the UNOH 200 & Titan Roof 150 at 8 p.m. The night doubleheader is scheduled for a Wednesday night, as the Whelen Modified Series will begin first. The nightcap will be the UNOH 200, the largest, most dramatic Camping World Truck Series event. Tickets start at $30. The races will be broadcast on FOX Sports SPEED.

Jacksboro Football

The Jacksboro Middle School football team will host Oneida. The championship game rematch of last year will begin at 7 p.m.

 

Jellico Golf

The Jellico High School golf team will travel to Oneida for a District 4-A match. Rounds are set to be on Oneida Golf Course beginning at 4 p.m.

The LaFollette Middle School football team will host Lake City. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m.

The Campbell County High School football team will host Cumberland Gap. This is the first meeting between the border schools. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.

 

Bristol Motor Speedway

Bristol Motor Speedway will be hosting the Food City 250 at 7:30 p.m. The NASCAR Nationwide Series race is also a Sharpie Qualifying race. Tickets start at $35, as some of the biggest drivers are expected for the race. The race will air on ESPN.

Jellico Volleyball

The Jellico High School volleyball team will travel to Knoxville for the Early Bird Tournament. Times and venue will be announced.

Bristol Motor Speedway

Bristol Motor Speedway will host the Irwin Tools Night Race at 7:30 p.m. The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races, which was the Bleacher Report and Sporting News’ No. 1 race of 2012, will return as one of the heated races of last season. Tickets start at $75, and the race will air on ABC.

Cumberland Gap High School and Jellico High School will face off at the LaFollette County Club. The cross-mountain rivals will begin play at 4 p.m.

 

Jellico Volleyball

The Jellico High School volleyball team will host Berean Christian. The non-district match is scheduled for 5 p.m., as only varsity will play.

The Cumberland Gap High School football team will face off with rival Claiborne County. The game is slated to be the MyVLT2 TV Rivalry Game of the Week. The Thursday night high school football action is slated for 7 p.m. and can also be seen on MyVLT2.

The Jacksboro Middle School football team will host Horace Maynard Middle School. The game is slated for 7 p.m.

 

Jellico Volleyball

The Jellico High School volleyball team will host Coalfield in a District 4-A match. The junior varsity will play at 6 p.m., as the varsity will follow at 7 p.m.

The Campbell County High School football team will travel to Knoxville Central to face off with the Bobcats. This District 3-AAA game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

The Jellico High School football team will host Lynn Camp (Ky.) High School for its first home game of the season. The non-district game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Elk hunt applications being accepted

The application period for Tennessee’s 2013 elk hunt will be through July 24, which coincides with the Wildlife Management Area (WMA) and WMA Youth quota application period. Anyone interested in both the elk and WMA permits will have to submit two applications, one for each. The state’s fifth elk hunt is scheduled for Oct. 21-25 at the North Cumberland Wildlife Management Area. A youth drawing will be between the ages of 13 to 16 years of age. Applicants may apply at any TWRA license agent, TWRA regional office or online at www.tnelkhunt.org. The deadline will end at midnight (CDT) on July 24. Mailed applications will not be accepted.

LaFollette Country Club Scramble

The regular Tuesday night scrambles will begin on Tuesday nights, as teams will be paired evenly into groups of four. Players should call the LaFollette Country Club in order to sign up for the event. For more information or to sign up, call 562-9130.

 

The Greens at Deerfield Scramble

Each Thursday night, The Greens at Deerfield will be hosting a nine-hole, two-man tournament. Players can sign-up until an hour before the tournament, as the teams will need to be determined. For more information, contact Deerfield at 566-0040.

 

LaFollette Country Club Couple’s Night

The LaFollette Country Club will be hosting a couple’s night every Thursday night. Couples are encouraged to come to the greens and play rounds. For more information, call 562-9130.
