SPORTS NOTES — October 20

A 5-on-5 basketball tournament for players age 18 and up will be held Nov. 5 at the LaFollette Recreation Center.

Registration is $50 per team. All benefits go toward Chaska Church and Ministry for repairs on the church. The tournament starts at 9 a.m. Trophies will be awarded for 1st through 3rd place. There will also be a 3-point shootout.

The Tri-City Basketball League has sign-ups scheduled for consecutive Saturdays — Nov. 5, 12 and 19 — at Valley View Gym. Sign-up hours will be 1-5 p.m. Girls and boys ages 4-16 are eligible to participate. The entry fee is $20 per player. League play will begin in late December. School division play will begin in February 2012 for grades 6-12. For teams with uniforms, the entry fee will be $10 per player. For more information, call 423-566-1400.

LaFollette junior golfers ages 12-18 are invited to compete in the AJGT Quail Hollow Junior Classic in McComb, Miss., on the weekend of Nov. 19-20.The two-day, 36-hole tournament is ranked by the National
Junior Golf Scoreboard and hosted by the Arrowhead Junior Golf Tour. 

The event includes two days of green fees, tee gifts and trophies in four age divisions. Recommended accommodations are available at the Hampton Inn in McComb.
