Tennis players net individual wins vs. Powell

Although their teams took identical 2-7 losses on opening day, four Campbell County High School tennis players were able to win individual or doubles matches Monday afternoon while playing Powell High at Tyson Park.

Ashley Morris and Madison Asher, seeded fifth and six respectively for the Lady Cougars, were victorious for the first time in their young tennis careers. Morris won a tiebreaker, 12-9, while Asher edged her opponent, 8-6.

“I’m so proud of them,” said Campbell County coach Jason Ivey.
