On Aug. 29, events following a car accident on Pleasant Ridge Road led to assault charges for three LaFollette residents.
The driver of a white Chrysler van was backing out of her driveway onto Pleasant Ridge Road when it was struck by a brown Chevrolet van, LaFollette Police Officer Robert Foxx said in a report.
The Chevrolet was driven by Felicia Ann Schultz, 28, 1865 Back Valley Road, LaFollette and there were four passengers: Jonathan Martin Keathley, 30, 1865 Back Valley Road, LaFollette, Michael Jason Martin, 40, 503 W. 4th Street, LaFollette, a four year old child and a one year old child, Foxx said. The white van had one passenger.
After the collision, Keathly and Martin allegedly got out of the brown van and began beating on the windows of the white van, Foxx said.
Martin and Keathly told Foxx a passenger in the white van had taken $40 from the brown van, Foxx said.
When Foxx asked Martin if he saw him take it, Martin said he hadn’t, and assumed he had, Foxx said.
Witnesses told Foxx the Chrysler attempted to leave, he said.
“Where the (expletive) are you going?” Schultz allegedly said, before allegedly moving the Chevrolet to prevent the Chrysler from leaving, hitting it again.
The white van received damage to its left taillight and front end, which totaled $1,000, Foxx said.
Keathly, Martin and Schultz were arrested and transported to the Campbell County Jail, Foxx said.
Schultz was charged with reckless endangerment, assault, vandalism over $1,000, and failure to carry registration.
Keathly and Martin were each charged with assault.
