An alleged brawl the day before Thanksgiving soured the holiday spirit for two brothers and a female.

On Wednesday night LaFollette Police Officer Jason Marlow was dispatched to a West Hemlock address to investigate the report of a fight.

Upon arriving at the property, Marlow reported hearing “a loud disturbance.”

Records indicate as Marlow, Officer Ronald Halcomb and Officer Susan Sowder entered the residence they observed Joshua Stevens, 27, of 376 Jordan Road, Washburn, and his brother Matthew L. Stevens, 25, of 4102 Tazewell Pike, Knoxville, having an argument.

According to arrest reports Joshua Stevens told officers he and his brother were fighting in the front yard and had been drinking.

Christina Poland, 24, of 4102 Tazewell Pike, Knoxville, was also allegedly involved in the altercation.

Marlow’s report states  while the brothers were fighting Poland tried to get between the two. When Joshua Stevens tried to get Poland to move, she allegedly turned and hit him in the left eye.

All parties had allegedly been drinking heavily prior to the incident, according to police records.

Joshua Stevens, Matthew Stevens and Poland were charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct and assault by domestic violence.

All are scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 5.
