LAFOLLETTE—City Council is looking at leasing out part of the parking lot at the former post office on South Tennessee Avenue.
Mayor Mike Stanfield said he was recently approached by LaFollette Housing Authority Director John Snodderly inquiring about the use of parking spaces by handicapped residents of Russell Towers.
Stanfield said the deal could net the city $500 a month or $6,000 a year. City council is scheduled to vote on the proposal at next Tuesday’s meeting.
City council approved the purchase of the building earlier this month for $150,000 from Jacksboro developer Steve Grimm.
