Failure to use his turn signal was a wrong turn for a LaFollette man.

Last Wednesday LaFollette Police Officer Jason Marlow observed a vehicle turn into the downtown Shell station without using its turn signal.

The truck driven by Travis Lynn Prater, 19, of 701 West Hemlock Street, matched the description of a vehicle Marlow had been advised to be on the look out for.

According to Marlow’s report, during the traffic stop Prater appeared to be extremely nervous. Upon being given consent to search the truck Marlow allegedly located a pill bottle containing a plastic bag with what was believed to be meth inside. In addition, the bottle also contained two blue oval tablets.

At that time Prater was placed under arrest and charged with possession of a schedule II substance, possession of a schedule III substance and improper turn. He is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
