Troxell sentence stands

Twenty- one months after a jury found James Troxell guilty of two counts of child rape and aggravated sexual battery, the court of criminal appeals has agreed the group of 12 was right.

On Monday, the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals issued the opinion that solidified Troxell’s verdict and 56 year sentence.

He was convicted in 2011 of raping his step-granddaughter when she was six years old. By the time she came forward and the trial began the girl was 17 years old.
