Lesson one: when stealing from family members, don’t leave pawn receipts in their  vehicle with your name on it.

In late February, the alleged victim of a truck burglary reported the incident to the sheriff’s office, according to the Campbell County Sheriff’s offense report.

Hollie Ann Minton, 23, of Duff, allegedly burglarized her stepfather’s truck, taking multiple work tools, said Sheriff Gary Perkins.

“He noticed a screwdriver lying on the ground that was inside his house the night before,” reads the offense report.

Investigating Detective Mike Perkins observed the secure toolbox pried open and damaged.

The victim originally suspected his stepdaughter in the burglary, according to the offense report.

The total value of the items taken from the truck was $750, and damage to the vehicle was about $300, the report indicates.

Brandon Albert Robinson, 28, of LaFollette was also arrested for burglary and theft because of his involvement in pawning the items, said Perkins.

After Robinson pawned the items at Derrek’s Place Pawn Shop, the receipt  for the items was left in Minton’s vehicle.

The pawned items were recovered at Derrek’s Place, according to Detective Brandon Elkins.

Minton and Robinson are charged with burglary and theft of property from $500 to $999. Both were held with a bond of $5,000.
