On Sunday, the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) responded to the scene of a one-car accident on Highway 90 in Claifield.

According to the THP report, the driver Eric D. Partin, 23, of Clairfield, died in the accident. The passenger, Derick Lee Hensley, also 23, of Siler, Ky., was injured.

According to the THP fatality report, the vehicle, a 1987 Ford Bronco, was traveling north on state highway 90 at the time of the accident.

THP Trooper Chad Arnwine explained the vehicle was negotiating a curve when it ran off the right side of the road.

The vehicle overturned striking several trees, said Arnwine.

Both the driver and passenger were wearing safety restraints, the report indicates.

Arnwine said that drinking or drugs did not play a part in the accident.
