Despite alleged attempts to send evidence down the tubes a LaFollette man still took a trip to jail Sunday afternoon. In response to a domestic altercation LaFollette Police Officer John Baker paid a visit to a Wheeler Lane apartment. At the scene Baker was advised by a witness that Bobby Vandagriff, 33, of 107 Wheeler Lane, Apartment E-2 had locked himself into the bathroom. According to Baker’s report, while behind the locked door Vandagriff allegedly flushed the toilet several times and ran water in the sink before emerging with bloody needle marks on his right arm. There were also several pills along with drug paraphernalia in plain view in the bathroom. Following a brief struggle Vandagriff was placed under arrest. After making the arrest, records indicate Baker allegedly recovered 28 pills, a loaded hypodermic syringe, five red straws with white residue, five spoons with residue and a Mountain Dew can that had been cut into a bowl with white residue from the bathroom. Upon arrival at the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department Baker was also allegedly able to recover a pill identified as Xanax from Vandagriff’s person. Vandagriff is charged with possession of a legend drugs without a prescription, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a schedule IV substance, resisting arrest, introducing contraband into a penal facility, and destruction of evidence. He is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 2.
