If taken to heart, the old Greek proverb, “every dog has his day” would go a long way toward soothing the bruised ego of Campbell County High School varsity basketball teams, which were soundly swept Friday night by district rival Oak Ridge.
The Lady Cougars suffered the worst of the two defeats, 85-45, but stand to gain the most in the immediate future. Campbell County won the girl’s junior varsity game, 40-38, after having beaten the Lady Wildcats’ freshman team, 57-34, the previous night.
Things are definitely looking up for next season.
