According to the LaFollette Police Department, the man sought for a robbery at Walgreens in LaFollette on Sunday was apprehended around 6 p.m. Tuesday night.

The LPD credits tips from the community and a quick response from the Caryville Police Department for apprehending Anthony Wayne White, 42, of Caryville.

The LPD issued warrants for White on Tuesday and posted information on Facebook asking the community for help finding White.

“We just want to thank the citizens for the tips that led to his arrest,” said LPD Det. Sgt. Josh Hill.

Hill said they got a tip that White was seen entering a gas station in Caryville.

CPD Officer Adam Southern took White into custody inside the gas station.

He has been charged with aggravated robbery, theft of property under $1,000 and possession of a schedule four substance.

He is also being held on a warrant from Knox County, according to jail records.

White was scheduled to appear in Campbell County General Sessions Court yesterday (Wednesday).

Hill says they reviewed video surveillance from the store, and it helped them identify White as a person of interest.

A witness also identified White from a photo lineup, according to affidavits from his arrest.

At around 9:45 p.m. on Sunday, Hill says a man came into Walgreens and approached the cashier at the front registers.

The man showed the cashier a knife and demanded the money from the register.

According to affidavits, the cashier gave the man the money from the cash drawer, which was approximately $452.

Hill says White has a prior criminal history.

According to the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office, White has prior arrests in Campbell County for robbery in 2004. He also has prior arrests for theft of property under $500, driving on a suspended license, possession of a schedule two controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
