A LaFollette man led Jacksboro police on a foot chase after being caught shoplifting.
Horace Wallace, 31, of 1464 Big Four Road LaFollette, was arrested on April 11 after he was allegedly caught shoplifting at Wal-Mart, according to a Jacksboro Police report.
Jacksboro Officer Jeremy Goins was dispatched to Wal-Mart on the report that Wallace was fleeing from a Wal-Mart loss prevention agent due to an alleged theft. Goins reported witnessing Wallace fleeing across a field, which was fenced around the perimeter of the property.
Goins located Wallace near Wier Woods Drive running towards the train tracks traveling south, according to the police report. Goins identified himself as the police and instructed Wallace to stop. Wallace then fled back toward Wal-Mart. Goins finally located Wallace along 25W and placed him into custody, according to the report.
Wallace had stolen $637 worth of various items from Wal-Mart, ranging from men and women’s clothing to food items, according to Goins.
Wallace was charged with theft of property $500-$999. Resist stop frisk halt search, criminal trespassing, giving false information to an officer, criminal impersonation and violation of probation.
Wallace also had an outstanding attachment for failure to pay child support, according to police records.
Wallace is being held on $5,000 and his court date is set for April 17.
