An unsuspecting customer leaving a local grocery store got a scare last Friday afternoon.
According to LaFollette Police Officer Cory Taylor’s report the victim was walking out of the store when a juvenile grabbed her wallet out of her hand and began running to the parking lot.
Witnesses to the incident began chasing the juvenile as he ran toward the rear of the store where he eventually dropped the wallet and continued to flee.
One of the witnesses was able to identify the juvenile suspect and reported the information to Taylor.
“A witness knew the subject and was able to provide me with a name. I was able to contact the juvenile by telephone and let him know I needed to talk to him,” Taylor said explaining how the youth was caught.
The juvenile was charged with strong arm robbery and will appear in juvenile court.
