I am continuing this week with the though of sharing the plan of salvation. I believe as Christ gave the Disciples the Great Commission to go into all the world… We may not have to go into all the world… but we are responsible for sharing Christ with others.
The one thing we are not to do, is to force Christian standards. And, we are not to confuse people by making them believe that church membership, tithing, or any good works are somehow connected to becoming a Christian. These are scriptural and important, we are to share the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ to a lost and dying world. As they study God’s word they will find the truths God has in store for them.
To be saved, a sinner must believe Gods word and ivi9te Christ into his heart by faith.
AS the Jews sought to kill Jesus for His teaching, and claiming to be the Son of God, he told them in John 5:12, “Verily, Verily, I say unto you, he that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hat everlasting life, and (will) not come into Condemnation (we are not guilty) but has passed from death unto life. John 3:16 puts it beautiful, “ For God so loved the world…”
Think of life everlasting, life without end, we will spend eternity with God and his son. How can we spend our short years on earth working and reaching for things that will soon vanish and decay, plus we have no hope for everlasting life if we don’t accept Christ, doesn’t seem like a good choice.
Don’t think for one moment that after you accept Christ you will lose things you need in this life. Your priorities might change-but, He will supply all your needs according to his riches in glory. Phil. 4:19.
The Psalmist David put it this way, “The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want.” Psalm 23:1.
In Matt 6:25-34 Christ tells the multitude (and it is to us) not to worry about the things they need in life, he is far more able to cloth and feed us then we are. Verse 33, But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness: and all these things shall be added unto you.”
To paraphrase Psalm 37:3-5, we are to trust in the Lord and do good: so shalt thou dwell in the land and be fed, he will give us the desires of our heart. If we a committed to him, he shall ring it to pass. Something I share often; it has been my experience in my years of trusting god for answers, He knows the desires of our heart better than we do.
When are we supposed to share the gospel of Jesus Christ? II Tim 4:2, put it this way; ‘Preach the word, be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage-with great patience and careful instruction.” NIV
The word preached here means to herald or proclaim, if we believe it we share it!
Something very important is our success in sharing the gospel, do we live what we share? It doesn’t matter how many times we tell others about the plan of salvation if they see we don’t adhere to what we say we are not a good witness.
Next week I will tell you how through witnessing to others, their lives are touched.
