We need to have a battle plan

Our enemy would want us to believe that if we have problems, or things aren’t going well in our lives at the time, the God does not hear us.

That is a lie from the devil, Satan, our enemy or whatever you choose to call him. He is real and very active, especially when he sees our doubt.

“We know he can steal the seeds of the word that has been planted,” Mark 4:15. There are many scriptures telling us about him. His character is to be a deceiver, he is the father of lies, and according to 1 Peter 5:8, he is real and we need to be aware of this. “Be sober be vigilant; because you adversary the devil as a roaring lion walketh about seeking whom he may devour.”

I look at it like this-he has no more power over our lives than we allow him to have. I wrote all of the above for comparison there is no comparison to what assurance a believer can have in God and his word.

I was reading 1 John chapter five this past week. As I was reading some of the commentary, one said our world has moved from solid ground to a sloping slide. We live in a world where change is happening faster than we can change channels with our remote control.

Then the questions were asked, “What assurance does the Christian have? What can we depend on no matter how the world we live in shakes and shifts?” 1 John chapter five gives us clear answers.

1 John 5:1-5 lets us know that no matter how uncertain things look or whatever is standing in our way, even if we are attacked by one of Satan’s schemes we are not alone.

“Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and everyone that loveth him that begot loveth him also that is begotten of him.

By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep his commandments.

For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

For whosoever is born of God over cometh the world: and this is the victory that over cometh the world even our faith.

Who is he that over cometh the world but he that believeth that Jesus it the Son of God.”(KJV)

If we believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, when we love him and love our brethren (our neighbors, too); when we keep God’s Commandments (listed in Exodus 20:3-12) we are told plain; whatsoever is born of God over cometh the world- the victory come through our faith.

Verse five holds many secrets, the world, agnostics and those who would scorn our belief do not know how important this verse is, if we profess to be Christians, “who is he that over cometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?”

Next week I will write about how if we live pleasing to God we can be assured of eternity with Christ. And, we can have confidence in God.

I know I am repetitious at times but the allurement of the world are real, temptations are real, persecution is real, to be over comers we need to have a battle plan.

God Bless.
