Congratulations to Melvin and Sharon Blankenship of Elk Valley who will celebrate their 39th wedding anniversary on Nov. 25.
William Shaun Parker and Carrie Ann Lay are announcing their engagement. The bride elect is the daughter of Sandra Lay of Oneida and Donald and Peggy Lay of LaFollette. The groom to be is the son of Bill and Rita Parker of LaFollette.
Johnny Christopher Ralston and Billie Jo Russell-Watts exchanged vows in an outdoor ceremony on Oct. 16 at the Museum of Appalachia, officiated by Rev. J.C. Monday. Cal Ralston served as his son's best man, Billie's daughter Ashleigh served as maid-of-honor, and her daughter Abbie Lou was the flower girl. The attendants walked down the aisle to What a Wonderful World played on acoustic guitars by Brachel Goodman and Travis Chapman. The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Ron Russell, and entered the ceremony to Amazing Grace, played by John Alvis on the fiddle. The couple exchanged their own vows, and concluded the ceremony with a sand ceremony which included Ashleigh and Abbie Lou. The Ralstons enjoyed a honeymoon in Key West. Chris is co-owner of CR Outfitters and is employed by Mundy Construction, and Billie teaches English at Campbell County Comprehensive High School, and serves as the student council Sponsor and co-coaches the CCHS Hip-Hop Dance Team
