CARYVILLE—A Caryville woman was arrested after she allegedly admitted to fraudulently using a credit card.
Julie Ann Whaley, 43, 472 Lake Road, was arrested Sept. 19 by Deputy Preston Prim of the Campbell County’s Sheriff’s Office.
She had been entrusted with a man’s wallet during his visit to the hospital that morning. The man noticed several charges on his account after his return home, police records indicated.
Whaley allegedly admitted to having made the charges without permission and stated all the transactions the owner had not made were her own.
Whaley was charged with fraudulent use of a credit card, theft of property under $500, and theft of property $500-$999.
This was her first booking at the Campbell County Jail.
